Alaska Speculative Fiction Conference Cancelled

The Alaska Speculative Fiction Conference was cancelled by the Board of Directors of the Alaska Writers Guild when insufficient registrations were received to provide for a reasonably effective workshop.

Registrations are in the process of being refunded and will be in the mail by July 1st.

The Ralph Williams Speculative Fiction Writing Contest was also cancelled by Board action but is being picked up by the Ralph Williams Speculative Fiction Contest, an entity which is not associated with the Guild, although Stephanie Patel continues to chair the contest. The deadline is being extended for submissions. A link will be provided to the new website for the contest as soon as it is available. In the meantime, you may contact Stephanie at stpatel@gci.net with any questions. If you have submitted a manuscript you will also soon receive communication regarding the Contest. If you haven’t submitted one yet, take heart—there is a new deadline of August 30, 2008.
