Donna Barr - Benefit for Bill Mantlo

Donna sent in this notice from David Lasky regarding a benefit for ROM writer/co-creator Bill Mantlo:
"If you're interested, a watercolor painting of mine, depicting the Marvel Comics hero "ROM" is up for bid on Ebay right now. (To be specific, it's a scene from ROM #33, from 1982.) All money raised will go to ROM writer/co-creator Bill Mantlo, who was severely injured in the 90's and requires constant medical care. This is part of a ROM art exhibit now on display at the Floating World Comics Gallery in Portland, OR. The gallery has ROM art by other artists on Ebay too." Click here to view the items on Ebay.

Brian Knight - Writerly Advice - Random Humbugs To Round Off The Year
"I'm in a bubble-bursting mood today, but I'm not sure that's really a bad thing. Some bubbles need bursting. Most of these little lumps of coal are meant for the newbies in this crazy business, who need every bit of advice they can get, and who also need a good bubble bursting every now and then to keep them honest.

Tony Eldridge - Have You Written A Book You Would Like Me To Help Promote?
"I have met so many great authors on My Space. One of the things I do to help authors get the news out about their books is to post a link to their site on my web site at http://www.samsoneffect.com. That can help get your site and book into the search engines. If you would like me to list your site, let me know. Give me the site you want me to promote and the name of your book. I will also update my My Space profile with My Space Authors. I am just starting to do this, so if you don't see your book in my profile page, let me know and I will add it. Also, I would appreciate it if you take a peek at my book video an let me know what you think of it. You can find it on my profile page. Happy writing everyone!"

Tom Tancin - Detective Lindsey Scott Fans Group
"I created a MySpace Group for Detective Lindsey Scott Fans. It is the easiest way for me to discuss the novels with everyone. You can post a topic, respond to a topic, talk about characters, killer motivation, plot, etc. and I will join in anytime I can. It means that I can spend a few hours here and there responding and discussing the novels with eveyrone who takes part in it. Plus, we can even discuss upcoming novels and you can make predictions with each other about what will happen in the novels before they hit the market. Here is the link to the group: http://groups.myspace.com/lindseyscottfans

I am sending some invitations but you can add yourself and it will be quicker. Let's make this an interactive, fun, up to date group. I need your help with this one! Invite your friends to join. Thanks ~ Tom"

Jenna Black - Home Vampire Hunters Game--code word posted!
"If you'd like to hunt vampires from the safety and comfort of your own home, stop by my Fun Stuff page and play the Home Vampire Hunters Game.

Each week, I post a report of a "vampire attack." If you have a game card that matches the description of the attacker, you could be eligible to win the weekly prize. The more cards you collect, the better your chances of winning! And don't forget the grand prize, a $100 Amazon.com gift certificate that will be awarded on April 29--the release date for Hungers of the Heart, the fourth book in my Guardians of the Night series!

If you don't have any game cards yet, don't despair! Every Sunday, I post a code word on the Fun Stuff page. Send me an email with that code word, and you'll be entered in a drawing to win one of three electronic game cards. This week's code word is up on the website now, so go take a look!"

Word Weavers - Like to Read? Like to Watch Movies?
"Word Weavers is looking for a dependable book and movie buff who would be willing to post weekly movie reviews. However, the movie must be based on a book and you must have both read the book and seen the movie. The reviews would then consist of your comparison of book to movie. This includes all books to movies ever made, it does not have to be new books into movies. For more information, please email: weaversofwords@gmail.com with Movie Review in the headline or message Jenna at http://www.myspace.com/weaversofwords"
