Yuri's Night 2008, the World Space Party

Posted on behalf of Rusty Hodge of SomaFM:

This Saturday, April 12th, SomaFM will be broadcasting live from Yuri's Night, the World Space Party at the NASA Ames Research Center here in the San Francisco Bay Area. We hope you can join us there, or at least tune in! Here's the info on the event; and starting on Saturday there will be links to listen to our broadcast live:

Yuri's Night is a celebration of man in space. Yuri Gagarin was the first human to go into space on April 12th, 1961. The US Space Shuttle first launched on April 12th, 1981. It is one day when all the world can come together and celebrate the power and beauty of space and what it means for each of us, including celebrating the 50th anniversary of NASA.

There are other Yuri's Night parties happening around the world - there might be one near you- but if there isn't, watch our live webcast. It all starts at 2pm pacific time (2200 GMT) this Saturday.

I'm very excited that SomaFM gets to be part of this. Hopefully we'll see you there! ~ Rusty
