ConComCon 15

The following is a press release from C^3 and SWOC. If you have any interest in running conventions you should consider attending.

X-posted for SWOC

ConComCon or C-Cubed is the annual Convention Committee Convention held every year in the Pacific Northwest. C-Cubed's mission is to bring convention and event planners together to share ideas and to learn from each other in order to improve their own events. Such items covered by C-Cubed are panels and sessions devoted to topics that focus on the needs and questions of the convention season. C-Cubed's major sponsor is SWOC (Seattle Westercon Organization Committee).

This year's theme is "Learning from Each Other or How Not to Reinvent the Wheel". This will be the fifteenth year of C-Cubed!

C-Cubed is taking all the subjects on how to start and run a convention, and actually making a convention out of it. Whether you're part of the staff of a anime, comic, fantasy, furry, gaming, media, toy, sci-fi, or some other genre, C-Cubed will hopefully provide you with answers to your convention needs.

For those of you that would be coming in from out of the Pacific Northwest. We'd recommend flying into Sea-Tac Airport. Snoqualmie Pass is about an hour drive east from thereon I-90. This is a regional convention with most of the Northwest cons being represented, but people from out of the area also attend.

The convention will be held June 13-15, 2008 at the Summit Lodge in Snoqualmie Pass, WA.

Room rates are $89 for a deluxe double room with microwave and a small refrigerator. You can make reservations by going to the web site: http://www.snoqualmiesummitlodge.com/groups/ and using the group code ConComCon.

The Lodge might look very much like the picture because they have had record snow fall and it is snowing today. So by June a lot of it will probably be remaining.

Membership is $30 through June 6 and $40 at the door.

Check the website http://swoc.org/ccubed/ for any new information.
