Egg Nog is here! Come get your Egg Nog Latte! Or if you’re feeling like something a little different but still seasonally festive go for an Egg Nog Chai!
It’s the weekend of Samhain aka Hallowe’en aka All Hallow’s Eve (as well as a bunch of other names for describing the next few days ... ) ... and we have several events happening in and around Wayward to help celebrate the holiday variations.
Friday, October 29, is our annual “Halloween Horror Reading” with the return of our resident local author, Michael Montoure. This year he will be joined by another local writer Jenna M. Pitman for an evening of dark tales and chilling stories. Please note: stories have adult themes and this reading event is not recommended for younger children.
And on Saturday we will be participating in the Greenwood “Trick or Treat” festivities along with many other businesses along Greenwood. Come out with the wee ones dressed in their Halloween finery to collect sugary treats. Start the costumed trek at Wayward so you can have your own caffeine treat (how about that Egg Nog Latte or maybe a hot Apple Cider?) to keep you warm as you stroll the neighborhood. We look forward to seeing everyone out in fabulous costumes!
Everyone at Wayward sends you festive wishes for a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend. Walk with others, dress for the weather, make sure you’re visible, hold the wee one’s hands if you’re trick or treating in neighborhoods, and be sure to have a designated driver if you’re heading off to parties! Celebrate, have fun, and be safe!
FRIDAY, October 29 HALLOWEEN HORROR READING: Michael Montoure + Jenna M. Pitman
8 - 10 pm, no cover
This year’s theme is “Listen Closely” ... please remember the readings tonight are thriller/horror stories with adult themes and are not suitable for young children.
SATURDAY, October 30 EVENT: Greenwood Safe Trick-or-Treat
12 - 3 pm, no cover
Visit all the participating businesses (that includes Wayward!) with your children in costume for a safe trick-or-treating experience. We look forward to seeing everyone in costume!

EMP|SFM curator Brooks Peck leads a discussion with Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore and principal cast members Edward James Olmos, Michael Hogan, Tahmoh Penikett and Kate Vernon.
“This exhibition is the first of its kind for Battlestar Galactica,” says Brooks Peck, curator of the exhibition. “We dig deep into both the original and new series; explore the complex characters and storylines; and offer a unique presentation of props, interactive stations and educational programs that deliver the drama and adventure directly to our visitors.”
"Over its four season run on Syfy, Battlestar Galactica became an iconic series that not only entertained, but fulfilled the promise of all great science fiction. It provoked us into examining our world and ourselves through its politically-charged, socially-relevant, religious and technological themes," said Mark Stern, Executive Vice President, Original Programming, Syfy, and Co-head, Original Content, Universal Cable Productions. "It is an honor for us to partner with EMP|SFM in this one-of-a-kind opportunity to experience BSG in an up-close and personal way."
